A proposal to ban pencils?

A column suggesting the banning of pencils was featured this week in Education World. The proposal is not a serious one, but it notes that you could make the same arguments for getting rid of pencils that school administrators use to ban such things as the Internet, IPods and other technological devices.

LOL! I saw a kid on Judge Judy today who might argue with you. Seems he sat at his desk and ended up with a pencil stuck in his rear end, had to go have it surgically removed, so I'm sure he'd love it if there were no more pencils. The kid he said did it claimed he had tried to throw the pencil into the trash can, and the kid sat on it as it was flying over his chair on the way to the can. Kids!

That has toped any thing I've heard. First what are kids suposed to right with. I mean if you get rid of pencils because of others, it being a wheapon and because it can get stolen then you have to get rid of all wrighting utincels and any cooking items, plus you would have to get rid of arts and craft items. Because they'er all very dangruose and could be stolen.
