This blog, which started years ago as Room 210 Discussion, focuses on the music and performers from rock and country in the '50s, '60s, and '70s, with an occasional stop in the '80s. It will feature stories, news, trivia, video and audio, and occasionally videos by Natural Disaster, the band I was with from 2002 through 2012.
Well its just normal for where I come from, my kids start school the day after labor Day just like I did when I was a kid. I have Friends who's kids will start next week and it just seems so wrong to me. I guess its all in what you are use to. I wish Oregon ran schools like Denver, they do year round schools. 3 weeks off every 9, I think that would be perfect. Guess I should stop rambling on your comments :-)
I think school should start after Labor Day, like it used to. They are pushing this thing about "YEAR ROUND" schooling and I think that is what is going to happen.I mean when I was in fifth grade,we started after Labor Day. Well ever since then, we have been starting earlier and earlier and we get out on the same day. Well if they keep making us start early, then they are just getting to more Holiday's that they will have to let us of of school for. I know the teachers are complaining about having to review when the kids come back from summer vacation and that is why they want to have year round schooling, but I think that when they give us the short brakes during year round schooling, then we would have to review when we came back from that and that would be a lot more reviewing and in my opinion a lot more work for the teachers to have to get done.
